We completely understand how disheartening it can feel not to have had a response, or secured any roles. It’s a sentiment shared by many in the industry, especially early on. The acting and background industry can be incredibly competitive, with far more rejection than success. This is often part of the journey, and persistence really is key.
Whilst we're not able to give direct advice on how to secure bookings, we can share some general feedback we've heard from our Casting Directors:
Consistency and persistence go a long way.
Make sure all of your profile details are kept accurate and up to date.
Images are absolutely crucial. They should showcase a range of looks if possible. At a minimum, your profile should include a clear and recent head shot and body shot. If you’re a standard user, just ensure those two are current and high-quality.
Once you land that first job, approach it with full professionalism. This helps build your reputation and increases your chances of being requested again in the future.
